INTRODUCTION

 

Schchida Nand Industrial Training Centre, (SN ITC) an ITC recognized by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India, was established in the year 2011 specifically to provide job oriented education/training. The course conducted by the ITC is Electrician.

 

To sow the seeds of national development in the field of various industrial trainings, to reduce the unemployment amongst the educated unemployed youth of the area under the Ministry of Labour, Government of India developed artisan training scheme which aims at providing the skilled trainees/labourers to the existing industries as well as ensuring their continued availability. The institute will impart training to economically backward youth as well as unemployed labour in different govt approved courses; will also help them in getting employment in the existing industrial units. The Industrial training centre will also enhance the education qualification of the working labourer by giving them course specific training so that they excel in their fields and also get earn well.

 

AIM

 

The Aim of the Institute is to equip Tribal boys and girls with quality Technical/Vocational training in relevant trades/skills. The training is job-oriented with special stress on Practical Training in workshops with state of art facilities and equipments, so as to enable them to enter the Job market as skilled craftsmen who are quality human persons. The trainees are formed to build their own lives and to contribute positively to the building of a better India.

 

The aim of the institute is not only to implement the said scheme but also enhancement in various other fields. The institute will also impart training to unskilled employed labour of the industry for their course specific requirements. It will ensure to make a variable the higher technical education in this economically backward area to the deserving students.

ELIGIBILITY:

 

1. 10th standard pass under 10 + 2 system with good scores in Science and Mathematics.

2. The candidate should have completed minimum of 14 years of age on the date of Admission

 

FEES:

 

The total fees for two years training is Rs. 40,000/- (Rs. forty thousand only)

 

1. Full fees are to be paid at the time of admission.

2. Final Examination fee will be collected as per rules at the end of the course.

3. Fees payable are subject to change, from time to time.

 

REFUNDS:

 

No refunds under any circumstances will be made once the seat is confirmed and fees /

amounts are collected.

 

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 

The Selection of the candidates is made by selection committee, interested candidates can collect the Application and prospectus from the office of SN ITC on payment, Filled in application must reach the office within one week from the date of issue. The candidate has to face an interview with admission committee. The date of the interview will be intimated. Parents should accompany the candidate. Candidates seeking admission should produce the following certificates.

  1. S.S.L.C. Marks Card.
  2. Transfer Certificate.
  3. Physical Fitness (From Registered medical practioner).
  4. 4 passport and 3 stamp size photos.

e. Caste/Income Certificate.

 

TRAINING

 

Weekly hours: 46 hours per week throughout the course as detailed below:

The syllabus for all Trades includes the subject of Workshop Calculations & Science, Engineering Drawing and Social Studies.

 

In addition, the Center will provide training in:

a. Communication skills in Kannada and English.

b. Simple, effective and efficient skills in the English language.

c. Basic Computer skills.

TRADE OUTLINES

 

Electrician trade:

 

The trade of Electrician is one which offers unlimited employment opportunities both at home and abroad. After doing this course you can get employment in Govt/Non-Govt sector/Electricity department/Railway Department, Roadways, Private organizations and Factories. This is a 2-year course having NCVT recognition, and is conducted strictly according to the NCVT syllabus. The training includes both theory and practical. We have a fully equipped lab consisting of most modern electrical and electronic instruments. Complete knowledge of electrical engineering, its practical, electicity fitting in buildings shops, repairing and maintenance of all electrical items like fans, heater, iron, washing machine, geyser, motor,generator, starter, transformer, armature. Rewinding of AC/DC motors and DC wiring in vehicles, how to design control panel, complete knowledge of fabrication given so that one can get his/her own-employment An NCVT recognized certificate in the electrician trade is a must for obtaining Wireman License, as also for applying for government jobs in this trade.

 

The syllabus included according to NCVT as follows:

 

a. Fit, install, maintain and repair electrical machinery, equipment and fittings in factories, workshops, powerhouses and business/residential premises.

b. Set, adjust, repair electrical relays, etc. and perform related works.

c. Install electrical meters, transformers, switchgears, switchboards and other electrical

equipment etc.

d. Test electrical installations and equipment and locate faults, repair and replace

defective wiring, parts and components etc.

e. Operate and maintain electrical motors, pumps etc.

 

 

 

Method of Education: Teaching Learning Process

 

(i)    The syllabus is designed by the National Council for Vocational Training.

(ii)   100% syllabus is covered.

(iii)  Special / Remedial classes are conducted to cover the syllabus if required.

(iv) The Faculty members submit a Lesson Plan at the beginning of every Academic Year.

(v)  The Faculty members maintain the Work Diary.

(vi) Syllabus coverage will be monitored through Lesson Plan / Work Diary.

(vii)Two or Three assignments will be given to the students every Month.

(viii)               Monthly Tests will be conducted every Month.

(ix) Performance of students will be informed to the Parents.

(x)  Guest Lectures will be arranged for our students from outside Industries / Reputed Institutions related to their Course.

(xi) Guest Lectures from outside will also be arranged for Personality Development / Skill Development / Communication Skills and other related topics.

 

TEACHING OVER AND ABOVE THE SYLLABUS

 

1.         To enhance and update the knowledge of our students, we arrange extra lectures from outside agencies.

2.         We have also collected CDs / Video films from various sources like web studies. and made available to the students .Besides this, our students are encouraged to participate in Training Programmes.

3.         Practical based project reports.

4.         Public speaking on latest topics by the student to improve confidence level.

 

EVALUATION AND MONITORING
Since employability depends on qualification and quality of the trainee, assessment and evaluation are conducted regularly (weekly, monthly, and quarterly). The trainee and the guardian are informed of the progress made and measures are taken to ensure improvement. The quality and the effectiveness of the trainers are evaluated periodically. They are provided in service training and capacity building to enhance their performance.

GENERAL RULES

 

1. Trainees must abide by the safety rules during the training period. The institute does not accept any responsibility for any accidents that may happen to the trainees during the course of training.

2. All trainees should aim to conduct themselves according to the highest standards of

manners and discipline.

3. Punctual and regular attendance is essential for good progress in studies and conducive to molding of character.

4. Dignity for Labor is an important aspect of our training. No job is considered below one’s dignity. Therefore, all trainees must be ready to work hard, including any type of physical work. This includes cleaning and maintenance of SN ITC premises, gardens, classrooms, workshops, lunchroom, toilets, machinery, tools, furniture and materials by the students.

5. No trainee shall leave the classroom or workshop without permission from his / her

Instructor.

6. Each trainee must ensure to wear complete neat and clean uniform throughout the

course.

7. Trainees are allowed to carry out practical work only as assigned by his / her Instructor.

8. Safety regulations must be followed. SN ITC will not be responsible for any injury or

disablement caused due to non-observance of the prescribed regulations.

9. Each trainee or his / her parents or guardian must meet expenses of damage(s) of SN ITC property, due to negligence, willfulness or disobedience of orders or rules. Depending upon the seriousness of the case, this will lead to immediate expulsion from the Center.

10. Any form of leave shall be addressed in advance to the Principal or his representative stating the period and reason for leave applied for. Absence without permission will be treated as misconduct and a fine will be charged. For leave, taken in excess of permissible leave, a fine will be imposed. Any repetition will lead to serious disciplinary action against the trainee.

11. In case of illness, a medical certificate from a recognized medical practitioner is essential.

12. 80% attendance is the minimum for a trainee to be eligible to appear for the All India

Trade Test. Non-compliance will disqualify the trainee from appearing in the NCVT

examination.

13. The Center will take serious note of willful acts of misbehavior, such as use of obscene words or actions, disobedience, fights in or out of SN ITC premises and irregular attendance, which will lead to severe punishment and possible dismissal.

14. In case, any trainee shows unsatisfactory performance or conduct, at the first instance, action will be a verbal reprimand. In spite of this, a warning in writing will be given to him with a copy to his/her parents / guardian. Recurrence of the same or similar offence, will lead to suspension or dismissal from the Center. In such an eventuality, the student will not have any claim for a refund of any fees or amounts paid (Other than Deposit).

15. Unless permitted by the Principal, no trainee shall become a member of any club,

association, union or the like, which is not conducive to the academic credibility of the

trainee.

16. No trainee shall play in any team against the team of the Center.

17. Smoking, alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited within the premises of the Center.

18. Trainees are not allowed to bring jewelry, motorbikes, mobile phones, transistors, radios, cameras and other such expensive and electronic gadgets to SN ITC premises.

19. Time and again, the above-mentioned rules are liable to change. Each trainee will be bound by these rules in force at the time.

20. Each trainee and his/her parents shall give an Undertaking on a Stamp Paper to abide by these SN ITC rules.
